Tesla Hikes Prices In The United States For All Of Its Models Save The Model 3

Tesla Hikes Prices In The United States For All Of Its Models Save The Model 3
Tesla Inc raised the pricing of its Model S, X, and Y electric vehicles in the United States by low single-digit percentages on Thursday, though prices remained significantly lower than at the start of the year.

According to the company's website, pricing for all variations of its higher-priced Model S and X vehicles climbed by $1,000, while costs for all Model Y variants jumped by $250.

These indicate a 0.5% to 1.1% rise since the latest price modification.

This is the second price increase for the Model S, Model X, and Model Y vehicles since April 19, when Tesla previously reduced pricing for some of its vehicles in the United States. Since the earlier May price increase, there have been no modifications to the Model 3's price.

Tesla has dropped prices globally since January, including six times in the United States, in an effort to increase volume. Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, has stated that the company is willing to sacrifice margin for sales volume but is also looking to raise pricing where possible.

Even after Thursday's price increase, the base models of the S and X cars are still 16% and 19% cheaper in the United States, respectively, than at the start of the year, while the long-range Model Y is around 23% cheaper.

The Model S now costs $88,490, while the Model X costs $98,490. Both of these vehicles' performance variants are currently worth $108,490. Model Y, long-range, and performance models are priced at $47,490, $50,490, and $54,490, respectively.

Separately, Tesla's Japan branch stated in a news release that it began accepting orders for its flagship sedan, Model S, and its sports utility vehicle, Model X, in the country on Friday.
