Tata Elxsi Ltd of India has partnered with Renesas Electronics Corp of Japan to establish a design centre in India for the development of electric vehicle (EV) technology, as the Indian EV industry continues to grow, according to Renesas.
The new design centre in Bangalore will serve as a new nexus for the two firms, where crucial EV technologies like as motor control units and battery management systems will be created.
Renesas Electronics will work hard to develop realistic solutions for the EV industry, with the goal of spreading the benefits of the cooperation throughout the world in the future.
In January of this year, the Bangalore-based Next Generation EV Innovation Center (NEVIC) opened its doors.
Tata Elxsi provides design and technology services, whereas Renesas Electronics provides sophisticated semiconductor solutions.
All throughout the world, electric vehicles have become a cornerstone of the new transportation paradigm. Certain segments, such as two-wheel and light electric cars, are rapidly gaining popularity, especially in emerging countries like India, where these vehicles may be used for a number of reasons, according to the firms.
The adoption of solutions that may provide crucial building blocks for scalability and reusability while providing stable performance and allowing for technical flexibility is critical. These technologies will enable OEMs and suppliers to produce quick-to-market solutions as well as a varied portfolio of goods and variants.
By contributing their extensive domain knowledge, intellectual property, and assets to the NEVIC, Tata Elxsi and Renesas will collaborate to produce reference designs and solution accelerators for important EV subsystems like Battery Management Systems and Motor Control Units, among others. With the electric vehicle market, particularly the Light EV category, at a crossroads, the companies intend to provide crucial enablers for the market, starting in India and expanding globally, to save time and money during development.
