Elon Musk Claims He Is Overloaded With Pending Work
When asked about his recent purchase of Twitter and his role as CEO of the electric car maker Tesla Inc., billionaire Elon Musk responded that he was working "at the absolute most amount...from morning til night, seven days a week."

"I have too much work on my plate that is for sure," Musk said by videolink to a business conference on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Bali.

Musk is the CEO of both businesses as well as the rocket company SpaceX, the startup for brain chips Neuralink, and the tunneling company The Boring Company. He appeared on screen, lit by candles, wearing a batik shirt that the organizers had sent, stating that he was speaking from a location that had just lost power.

Investors in Tesla are concerned that Musk, a self-described "nanomanager," is preoccupied at a crucial time for the largest manufacturer of electric vehicles. Musk has been personally involved in working-level decisions ranging from supply chain issues to car styling.

Since he revealed he had purchased a stake in Twitter in early April, the value of Tesla's shares has decreased by half..

The pressure has increased as a result of his Tesla share sales, which included an additional $4 billion last week to bring his Twitter-related sales to $20 billion.

Musk kept referring to how busy he was when asked about the difficulty of industrial supply chains "decoupling" from China and the dangers posed by Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

In response to the statement that many Asian business leaders aspired to be the ""I'd be careful what you wish for," Musk advised, referring to Elon Musk of the East. How many people would actually want to be me? I'm not sure. They wish they could be what they picture me to be, which is not the same as being me in reality. To be completely honest, I torture myself a lot."

Musk also mentioned that he wanted Twitter to support more and longer-form video so that content creators could profit from the platform, but he made no specific recommendations. YouTube, a service owned by Alphabet Inc., broadcast his remarks live.

Indonesia has been attempting to negotiate a deal with Tesla regarding battery investment and perhaps one with SpaceX regarding the construction of a rocket launch facility.

Despite saying that Indonesia had a significant role to play in the electric vehicle supply chain and that it would be beneficial for SpaceX "long term" to have multiple launch sites around the world, Musk made no commitments to either of those.

Where Musk was during the Bali event was unclear. According to @ElonJet, a Twitter account that monitors Musk's Gulfstream G650, his personal jet has remained at Tesla's headquarters in Austin, Texas, since the weekend.

"I'm just looking at this video and it's so bizarre," Musk said. "I'm sitting here in the dark surrounded by candles."

It's "just a question of how long it takes," Musk continued, adding that he thought the economy would switch to sustainable energy. So that we can comprehend the nature of the universe and our place within it, he said, space exploration should continue to be a top priority.

"Maybe we'll find alien civilization or discover civilizations that existed millions of years ago, but we see the ruins of ancient civilizations. I think that would be incredibly interesting," he said.
